Business Doesn't Care

I'm currently in the Philippines working a project.

The majority of people I spoke to in the street earn around $200 a month.

But here's the thing... there are high-end SUVs and sports cars all over the place, and a 3 bedroom house downtown will cost you $5,000,000.

My question was: "Where is all that money coming from?"

Not from old money.

Not from lottery winners.

Not from politicians.

I got the same answer from everyone I asked, and it was always worded in exactly the same way...

"Oh! They belong to the business people."

Now, hear me out.

This was not some random comment.

This was every time I asked the question.

Same answer.

"Business people."

People in the street run the day to day operations in Manila, so although they are financially at a disadvantage, what they say about the environment around them is gospel truth. They know.

The social divide in this country is huge monetarily, but very small in its numbers of people at the top-end.

But what separates them?

Those who make it here, start a business. They reinvest profits and then scale outside of investment. Not many depend on using other people's money to make it big.

The stories they have told me are amazing.

One kid, at 14 years old earned $50 he got selling bananas in rush hour traffic, and used it to buy a bucket and detergent to start washing cars, and turned it into a five figure business in less than two years.

(The grind is the pathway!)

A man selling noodles from a stall now has the largest fast food noodle chain in Manila.

A guy selling second-hand shoes on the street has fifteen stores in the capital and one in every major town.

Think about that.

No! really think about it! Stop just reading words and moving on.

Take a moment and reflect on what I've said above.

Folks earning $200 a month, giving over half of it over to feed their families, can still make millions of dollars. The guy in the photo selling eggs is probably putting his siblings through school and college.

Because business doesn't care who you are, or what your background is.

It's completely neutral to your circumstances.

Doesn't give a damn about how much you're starting out with.

It gives reward for input and effort, testing, implementation, failure, rebuilding and doing it all with integrity.

No matter where you come from, and what situation you are currently in...

You have no excuse. Start hustling. Today!

Until next time! Six
